Product information "La Haye, 1947"
We did taste this wine already several times and there has never been one single bad bottle. The wine shows a simply unbelievable fresh, brillant, golden colour. On the nose and the palate you find the same freshness, the same pure and transparent feeling, paired with scents of exotic fruits, the wine is rich yet mineral and somewhat unreal…..a great experience. John Gilman gives 90 points !! Some of his thoughts : This bottle of 1947 Château La Haye Blanc was bottled by a Libourne-based négociant from this era, Roger Lafage. The note goes back to the spring of 2014, but it was drinking so well and still had plenty of life ahead of it at the time that I have printed the note in this feature, as it has been languishing in my files since that time. The nose offers up a deep, complex and nice old white Graves blend of tangerine, dried apricot, a touch of beeswax, gentle notes of petrol, chalky soil elements and a topnote of orange peel. On the palate the wine is deep, fullish and still fresh and complex, with a good core, lovely focus and grip and a long, well-balanced finish. 90 points.
